Automatic Waste Classification

Garbage classification with PyTorch and a small mobile app (Fudan–Turku joint project).

A Fudan–Turku joint project that applies deep learning to recycling: classify household waste from photos automatically.

  • Built the image-classification pipeline in PyTorch on the df_garbage dataset
  • Helped get a lightweight mobile app running the model in real time
  • Shared the work across model training, deployment, and coordination
